The Quantum Leap sequel series is mere days away from premiering, and we’ve finally gotten our first trailer for the show.

The trailer sheds some light on where physicist Ben Song makes his first leap. It’s 1985, and it looks like the person Ben leaps into is also part of a bank heist? Seems to be like your average Leap, based on the original show, which I’m here for.

We also meet his holographic buddy this trip around—a woman named Addison from his own time (2022) who, like everything else in his life, he doesn’t remember. Addison remembers, and we get a shot of them kissing, so it looks like they were romantically involved, because of course they are.

Unlike the original show, it also looks like we’ll also be spending some time in 2022 with the team overseeing the Quantum Leap project and working to get Ben back.

Here’s the official synopsis for the show:

It’s been nearly 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now, a new team, led by physicist Ben Song (Raymond Lee), has been assembled to restart the project. Everything changes, however, when Ben makes an unauthorized leap into the past, leaving the team behind to solve the mystery of why he did it. At Ben’s side throughout his leaps is Addison (Caitlin Bassett), a decorated Army veteran who appears in the form of a hologram only Ben can see and hear. Herbert “Magic” Williams (Ernie Hudson) helms the highly confidential operation whose team at headquarters includes Ian Wright (Mason Alexander Park) and Jenn Chou (Nanrisa Lee).

Want to see the first episode in its entirety? You only have 10 days to wait: Quantum Leap premieres on NBC on September 19 at 10:00 p.m. ET/9:00 p.m. CT and will stream on Peacock the following day.
